Equality and Diversity Course (E&D)
This course is designed to give participants an understanding of the key issues relating to equality and diversity in the workplace.
It will inform on good practice and current legislation that supports the rights and aspirations of your employees.
Learning outcomes:
- To be able to define equality and diversity and how it differs from the traditional view of equal opportunities.
- To be able to recognise the elements of diversity in us all and how it provides a beneficial uniqueness.
- To have a clear understanding of the legislation that supports all the diversity strands (protected characteristics), including the Equality Act 2010.
- To have the opportunity to question individual values and beliefs that creates misconceptions and prejudice.
- To attain an understanding of the impact of a changing and diverse work force and how that effects organisational requirements and compliance.
- To be able to identify the benefits of workplace objectives, including positive action and effective monitoring.
- To gain confidence to support clients or colleagues who may be experiencing discriminatory practice.
- To be able to apply the principles learned throughout the course to develop good working practice.
